SOL : PARAMAGNETIC SOLIDS These solids contains certain unpaired electrons. In the absence of external field there's been so magnetic moment mutually cancel out each other due to random orientation and solid may have no magnetic moment. However under the influence of external magnetic field these spins become parallel and produce temporary magnetism as it is present as long as external magnetic field is present. This property is called paramagnetism. These are weakly attracted by magnetic field. Example Cu, Ni, Fe, Cu, NO, O2 etc.
